Why Head-On Crashes Often Cause Fatal Injuries
Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous types of accidents because the force from both vehicles combines at the moment of impact. Even at moderate speeds, this type of crash can lead to severe injuries or fatalities.
Roadway conditions, driver distraction, and improper lane positioning are common factors in head-on crashes. Safety features such as seat belts and airbags can reduce harm, but the direct force of two vehicles colliding often overwhelms these protections. Emergency responders must act quickly to provide medical care and secure the scene when fatalities and serious injuries occur.
