Pedestrian Safety on City Streets
Pedestrian collisions can occur even in areas with low traffic speeds. Crosswalks, lighting, and visibility all play a role in preventing accidents. Drivers are advised to remain alert for pedestrians, particularly in residential and urban areas, during early morning or low-light conditions.
Even when drivers are not impaired, unexpected pedestrian movements or limited sight lines can increase the risk of serious injury or death. Awareness and cautious driving remain critical for safety in city environments.
