North Palm Beach, FL (March 10, 2026) – A Georgia woman died, and another woman was seriously injured after an SUV crashed Monday evening, March 9, near John D. MacArthur Beach State Park in North Palm Beach.
Emergency units responded around 6 p.m. to the 11000 block of Jack Nicklaus Drive after reports of a single-vehicle crash. Authorities said a 2024 Lexus RX350 was traveling northbound when the driver approached a left-hand curve and failed to negotiate the turn.

The passenger, identified as 77-year-old Sara Dunham, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 68-year-old woman, was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.

Single-Vehicle Crashes on Curved Roadways
Roads near Jack Nicklaus Drive and John D. MacArthur Beach State Park often include curves and changing terrain. When injury accidents occur in North Palm Beach, responders typically focus on securing the area and assisting those involved.
Curved sections of roadway can affect vehicle control, particularly when drivers approach the turn at a speed that makes steering adjustments difficult. Changes in elevation, road surface conditions, and limited shoulder space may also influence how safely vehicles navigate these sections.
When a vehicle leaves the roadway, fixed objects such as utility poles, guardrails, or trees can increase the severity of the impact. Collisions with stationary structures often result in significant damage because the object does not move during the crash.
