Pedestrian Safety on Major Urban Corridors
Arterial roads near Cheshire Bridge Road and Interstate 85 typically carry steady volumes of traffic throughout the day and night. When injury accidents occur in Atlanta, responders often work to secure lanes and protect those involved.
Busy corridors may include multiple lanes, highway ramps, and nearby commercial areas. These factors can increase the complexity of traffic flow and reduce the time drivers have to react to other road users.
Overnight conditions may also affect visibility. Street lighting, vehicle speed, and driver awareness can influence how quickly pedestrians are noticed by approaching traffic.
