Why Bus and Passenger Vehicle Collisions Can Be Severe
Collisions between large buses and smaller vehicles often result in more serious injuries for occupants of the smaller vehicle. The size and weight difference increase the impact force during a crash.
Children and elderly passengers are especially vulnerable to serious injuries because of their physical fragility. Emergency responders often airlift victims to specialized hospitals to provide rapid treatment for trauma, internal injuries, and potential complications.
Investigators review vehicle positions, roadway conditions, and witness statements to determine how the crash occurred and help prevent similar incidents in the future.
