How Do Crashes Involving Cyclists Often Happen in City Areas?
Crashes involving cyclists in busy city areas can happen when vehicles and bikes share the same space on crowded streets. Drivers may have limited time to react, especially in areas with heavy traffic or frequent stops.
Intersections and commercial corridors often see more activity from both cyclists and vehicles. Delivery riders may be moving quickly to complete trips, while drivers are focused on traffic signals and nearby cars.
Visibility can also be reduced by parked vehicles or larger trucks. When cyclists are harder to see, the risk of a collision increases. Staying alert and maintaining clear space between road users can help reduce these incidents.
