Why Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crashes Are Dangerous
Pedestrian crashes are particularly deadly when the driver flees the scene. Drivers often travel at high speeds on roadways, giving pedestrians little time to react.
Hit-and-run incidents can delay medical attention, increasing the risk of fatal outcomes. Limited visibility, especially in early morning hours, also contributes to the danger.
Authorities encourage pedestrians to stay aware of vehicles when walking near roadways and stress the importance of identifying and reporting vehicles involved in such crashes to help prevent future tragedies.
