How Lane-Change Collisions Can Cause Serious Injuries
Crashes that occur during lane changes often result from sudden movements or misjudged gaps between vehicles. When one vehicle collides with another at highway speeds, the struck vehicle can be pushed into adjacent lanes or barriers, amplifying the impact force.
High-speed collisions against concrete barriers can lead to severe or fatal injuries, especially for passengers not wearing seat belts. Multi-lane highways like interstates carry heavy traffic, increasing the risk of chain reactions when one vehicle loses control. Even minor driver errors during lane changes can quickly escalate into serious accidents with multiple injuries.
