How Vehicle Fires Can Spread to Nearby Structures
Vehicle fires can quickly spread when parked close to homes or other buildings. Heat from the flames can ignite siding, roofing materials, or attic spaces, especially if the fire is not contained right away.
Nighttime fires can be more dangerous since people may be asleep and unaware of the situation. Smoke can travel rapidly through a structure, leading to breathing problems or burns even before flames reach living areas.
Working smoke alarms and early detection can make a significant difference in preventing injuries. Keeping space between vehicles and structures, along with regular maintenance, may help reduce the risk of fires spreading.
