How Multi-Vehicle Crashes Can Escalate Quickly
Crashes involving several vehicles can develop rapidly, especially on busy highways where traffic moves at steady speeds. When one collision occurs, the following vehicles may not have enough time or space to stop safely.
The presence of larger vehicles, such as school buses, can increase the complexity of the scene. These situations often require careful coordination to account for all passengers and drivers involved.
Traffic flow, road conditions, and visibility can all influence how multi-vehicle crashes unfold. Sudden slowdowns or unexpected hazards may trigger chain reactions involving multiple vehicles over a short distance.
