Why T-Bone Crashes at Intersections Can Be Severe
T-bone crashes, also known as side-impact collisions, often happen at intersections when vehicles enter at the same time from different directions. These crashes can be especially dangerous because the sides of vehicles offer less protection compared to the front or rear.
In many cases, the force of impact is directed toward passengers sitting on the side that is struck. This can increase the likelihood of serious injuries, particularly when multiple occupants are inside one vehicle.
Traffic signals, visibility, and driver decisions all influence how these crashes occur. Even a brief misjudgment at an intersection can lead to a serious collision.
