What Can Lead to Crashes Involving Emergency Vehicles
Crashes involving emergency vehicles can happen during routine patrol or while responding to incidents. Intersections are common locations for these collisions, especially when multiple vehicles approach at the same time.
Factors such as visibility, traffic signals, and driver awareness can influence the occurrence of these crashes. Even when emergency vehicles are present, other drivers may misjudge speed or distance, increasing the risk of impact.
The size and movement of emergency vehicles can also make sudden maneuvers more difficult, particularly in busy urban areas.
