What Investigators Review After a Structure Fire
After a building fire, investigators typically begin by examining where the fire started and how it spread through the structure. Burn patterns, smoke damage, and points of structural collapse can help determine the origin of the fire.
They also review the building’s layout and materials to understand how quickly the fire developed. In many cases, the rear or less-visible areas of a structure may be closely assessed for ignition sources or blocked exits.
Evidence collection may include debris samples and inspection of electrical systems or appliances. These findings help build a clearer picture of how the incident unfolded and what factors contributed to its severity.
