What Challenges Do Hit-and-Run Crashes Present for Investigations?
Urban streets like Kewalo Street near Wilder Avenue often see traffic at all hours, which can make it difficult to quickly identify vehicles involved in hit-and-run incidents. When a driver leaves the scene, investigators must rely on limited early information.
Road conditions and lighting may also affect how much detail can be gathered. Nighttime incidents can reduce visibility, making it harder to capture clear descriptions of vehicles or events.
In these cases, the focus often shifts to gathering physical evidence and reconstructing what happened based on available clues. Traffic patterns and nearby surroundings may help provide context as the situation is reviewed.
