What Is Typically Reviewed in Left-Turn Intersection Crashes?
Left-turn intersection crashes are often examined to determine right-of-way and driver awareness. Investigators typically review whether the turning driver had a clear view of oncoming traffic before entering the intersection.
Vehicle speed and timing are also assessed. These factors help establish whether the oncoming vehicle had enough distance and time to react before the collision occurred.
Impact location is another key focus. Side-impact crashes often provide clues about how the vehicles entered the intersection and how the sequence of movement unfolded in the moments before the crash.
