How Collisions Between Mopeds and Vehicles Can Lead to Serious Injuries
Moped riders face significant risks when sharing the road with larger vehicles. Without the protection of a car’s frame, even a relatively low-speed collision can result in severe injuries.
Intersections and merging areas are especially hazardous, as drivers may misjudge the speed or presence of a smaller vehicle like a moped. Visibility can also be a factor, particularly if drivers are not actively scanning for two-wheeled traffic.
Protective gear and awareness can help reduce injury severity, but the imbalance in size and weight between vehicles often makes these crashes more dangerous for riders.
