Why Dirt Bike Crashes Can Be Severe
Dirt bike crashes on city streets can lead to serious or fatal injuries because riders have little protection during impact. Unlike people inside larger vehicles, riders are more exposed to the roadway, nearby traffic, and fixed objects.
Crashes involving a dirt bike and a larger vehicle can be especially dangerous. A tow truck has far more size and weight, which can increase the force of impact. Even at lower speeds, that difference can cause major harm.
Visibility may also affect these crashes, especially at night. Smaller vehicles can be harder to see near intersections, where drivers may be turning, slowing, or entering traffic from different directions.
