Why School Bus Crashes Require Careful Medical Checks
School bus crashes can be stressful for students, even when injuries are minor. A bus leaving the road may cause children to hit seats, windows, or the floor. Some pain may not appear right away.
Evacuating a bus can also take planning. Crews may use rear exits when the main door is blocked, unsafe, or harder to reach. This helps move students out while keeping the scene controlled.
Medical checks after a bus crash often focus on head pain, neck pain, bruising, and signs of shock. Younger passengers may have difficulty describing pain clearly, so evaluations can help identify those who need hospital care. Follow-up details may later explain the vehicle’s path and road conditions.
