Sahuarita, AZ (April 29, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in Sahuarita left one car on its side at the intersection of West Sahuarita Road and West Calle Imperial.
Emergency units were called to the scene around 4:43 p.m. on April 27, where two vehicles had collided in a T-bone crash. The impact caused one of the vehicles to flip onto its side, and airbags deployed in at least one of the cars involved.
Four people were involved in the crash and had exited their vehicles before emergency crews arrived. Injuries were reported to be minor or none, and all occupants declined transport to the hospital after being evaluated at the scene.
All individuals involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. Authorities have not released additional details about what led to the collision.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available. Our thoughts are with those affected as they continue to recover.
How Side-Impact Crashes Can Affect Vehicle Stability
Side-impact crashes, often called T-bone collisions, occur when the front of one vehicle strikes the side of another. These crashes commonly occur at intersections, where vehicles cross paths and may not have enough time to avoid a collision.
The force from a side-impact collision can push a vehicle sideways or even cause it to tip over, especially if the hit occurs at moderate or high speed. Vehicles with a higher center of gravity may be more likely to roll onto their side during this type of crash.
Safety features like airbags and seatbelts can help reduce the risk of injury in these situations. Even when damage appears severe, proper restraints and quick response from occupants can limit the overall harm experienced in a crash.
