Bogalusa, LA (April 29, 2026) – A teenage girl died, and another person was seriously injured following a late Monday night crash in Bogalusa. The collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. on April 27 at the intersection of West 9th Street and Avenue G in Washington Parish.
Police said a 2004 Nissan 350Z was attempting to evade a traffic stop when the driver lost control. The vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole with significant force.
A 16-year-old passenger, identified as Destiny Matran of Bogalusa, died at the scene from her injuries. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Emergency units remained in the area following the crash while the scene was secured and roadway damage was assessed. The impact also resulted in damage to nearby infrastructure at the intersection. Authorities continue to investigate.
