Auburn, WA (April 29, 2026) – A tragic crash in Auburn has claimed the life of a 2-year-old girl and left another child critically injured following a suspected DUI incident earlier this week.
According to Auburn Police, the crash occurred on April 27 in the Lea Hill area along 104th Avenue Southeast. Authorities say a 21-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed head-on into a tree.
The 2-year-old victim suffered severe blunt force injuries to the head and neck and was later pronounced dead. An 8-year-old girl sustained critical injuries and remains under medical care.
Officials confirmed that the driver was also injured and hospitalized. Police say her blood alcohol level was well over the legal limit at the time of the crash. Upon her release from the hospital, she is expected to be booked on charges including vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
The roadway was closed for several hours following the crash as investigators processed the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
