What Is Often Reviewed After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Highway Crash?
Fatal crashes on highways often involve high speeds and sudden impact. When two vehicles collide, investigators typically examine how each vehicle was traveling before the crash and whether lane changes or merging were involved.
The condition of the roadway can also be reviewed. Lighting, traffic flow, and any debris may provide clues about how the collision occurred.
In serious crashes, the position of the vehicles after impact and the extent of damage can help explain the force involved. Medical reports may later clarify how injuries were sustained in the collision.
