Altavista, VA (April 15, 2026) – Two people were injured following a head-on collision Tuesday evening in Altavista.
According to Virginia State Police, the crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of Bishop Creek Rd. Emergency crews were initially alerted through a cell phone crash detection notification.
Responders arrived to find two vehicles with heavy damage after a head-on collision.
Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported by Campbell County Public Safety medics to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment.
The roadway was temporarily shut down while crews assisted the injured and cleared the scene but has since reopened. The crash remains under investigation, and additional details may be released as they become available.
