ANAHEIM, Orange County, Calif., Nov. 3, 2026 — A motorcyclist was hurt on Monday morning, November 2, in a crash on the connector from westbound SR-91 to southbound SR-241 in Anaheim, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision involved a motorcycle and a white Honda.
The crash was reported shortly after 7 a.m. at the transition road linking the two highways, according to the CHP traffic log. An early call noted the rider was still on the ground after the crash. The incident was initially logged as a collision with an ambulance en route before the CHP updated it to a minor-injury crash.
A tow truck was called to the scene to remove at least one of the vehicles, and dispatch notes described heavy traffic backing up in the area. Responders at one point asked whether they could use the right shoulder to reach the crash site because of the congestion. A flatbed tow truck was also requested to clear the connector.
By mid-morning, CHP units reported that traffic was slowly beginning to move again through the area.
The incident remains under investigation. We hope the injured motorcyclist recovers fully.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are motorcycle crashes more likely to happen at intersections or highway interchanges?
Yes. Merging points, connector roads and intersections create more opportunities for a vehicle to cross into a motorcyclist's path, making these spots common sites for collisions.
How does the road surface affect a motorcycle rider's safety?
Uneven pavement, debris, paint markings and wet surfaces affect motorcycles more than cars because a bike relies on two narrow contact points for balance and traction.
What gear helps reduce injury for motorcyclists?
A DOT-approved helmet, abrasion-resistant jacket and pants, gloves and over-the-ankle boots can reduce the severity of injuries in a fall or collision, though they cannot prevent a crash from happening.
What usually causes motorcycle accidents?
Common factors include other drivers failing to see a motorcycle, sudden lane changes, following too closely, and riders or drivers misjudging speed or distance in traffic.
