ARLINGTON, Tarrant County, Texas, Sept. 28, 2026 — A resident was left in critical condition after a fire broke out inside an apartment late on Saturday night, September 26, in Arlington, according to the Arlington Fire Department.
Crews from Engine 8 and Tower 8 were sent to the 2700 block of Furrs Street around 11:15 p.m. for a report of a smoke investigation. Firefighters arriving on the scene reportedly found smoke coming from around an apartment door and forced their way inside.
Once inside, crews located a fire in the kitchen and found the occupant unconscious, according to the department. Personnel from Tower 8 pulled the person out of the unit. The occupant was taken to a hospital in critical condition, officials said.
The cause of the fire has not been released and remains under investigation. No additional injuries have been reported.
