AUBURN, Lee County, AL, Sept. 27, 2026 — A man died Friday evening, September 25, in a head-on crash on Lee County Road 188 near Lee County Road 78, about 10 miles west of Auburn. A woman was hurt in the same crash.
Alabama State Troopers said a 43-year-old man was driving a car that collided head-on with an SUV driven by a 52-year-old woman of Auburn. The crash happened just after 6:30 p.m., troopers said.
The man died at the scene, according to troopers and the woman was taken to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment. Her condition has not been released.
Troopers have not said what led to the crash. The case remains under investigation.
