What Factors Are Often Involved in Roadway Departure Crashes?
Roadways like Riverwatch Parkway often carry steady traffic with varying speeds. When a crash occurs in Augusta, responders typically work to secure the area and assist those involved.
Crashes where a vehicle leaves the roadway can happen for several reasons, including loss of control, distraction, or sudden maneuvers. When a vehicle travels off the road, it may encounter uneven ground, trees, or other fixed objects, which can increase the severity of the impact.
Rollover crashes are also more likely in these situations, especially when a vehicle moves down an embankment. The angle of descent and speed can contribute to the vehicle overturning, leading to serious or fatal outcomes.
