Aurora, CO (January 31, 2026) – A residential fire early Friday morning in Aurora left two people injured, including one in critical condition, after emergency crews responded to a home in the 15000 block of East Caspian Pl near E Illiff Ave and S Chambers Rd.
Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to the scene around 7:00 a.m. after receiving reports that someone might be trapped inside the home. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from a second-story window and initiated a rapid search of the property. The individual initially believed to be trapped was found outside on the front porch, and no one else was discovered inside during the search.
Four residents were evaluated at the scene. Two required hospital transport—one with life-threatening injuries and another with less serious harm. The remaining individuals were treated on-site.
According to officials, the fire caused limited damage, primarily confined to a bedroom, and was successfully prevented from spreading throughout the home. Fire investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the blaze.
