BAYARD, Guthrie County, Iowa, Sept. 20, 2026 — One person died on Friday afternoon, September 18, after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Justice Road and 130th Street in Guthrie County.
The Guthrie County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the scene at 12:17 p.m. The Bayard and Bagley Fire Departments, Panora Ambulance, Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Agency, Bayard First Responders and the Iowa State Patrol also responded.
One person died in the crash, the sheriff's office said. A second person was taken to Guthrie County Hospital with injuries whose severity has not been released.
The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, according to the sheriff's office. Authorities have not released the names of those involved or said what led up to the collision.
