BEAUMONT, Jefferson County, Texas, Sept. 20, 2026 — A 21-year-old Vidor woman died early on Saturday morning, September 19, after a car fleeing a disturbance in Beaumont struck a parked trailer, according to authorities. The driver was reportedly hospitalized in critical condition.
Beaumont police said officers were called to a large disturbance near the 6700 block of Bigner Road, at a site known as the Salt Water Barrier, shortly after 2 a.m. As officers headed toward the scene, dispatchers reportedly advised that several vehicles were leaving the area at a high rate of speed.
According to authorities, one of those vehicles failed to negotiate a curve on Bigner Road and struck a parked flatbed trailer. The front passenger, identified by police as 21-year-old Alyssa Messina of Vidor, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was taken to a hospital in the Houston area in critical condition.
