Why Smoke Detectors Are Critical in House Fires
Smoke detectors provide early warning during a fire, allowing occupants more time to escape. In many cases, fires spread quickly, and the first signs may occur while people are asleep.
Without a working smoke detector, individuals may not be alerted in time to react. This can increase the risk of serious injury or death, especially during nighttime fires.
Regular maintenance, such as checking batteries and ensuring proper placement, helps improve their effectiveness. Having multiple detectors in key areas of a home can also increase the chances of early detection and a safer exit.
