Why Boat Dock Accidents Can Injure Several People
Boat dock accidents can happen quickly because vessels may move in tight spaces near people, pilings, and other boats. A wrong gear shift, limited room to turn, or crowded marina traffic can leave little time for people nearby to react. Even at low speeds, a boat can cause harm because of its weight and hard surfaces.
People on docks may be knocked down, pushed into nearby objects, or struck by parts of a boat. Injuries can include bruises, cuts, sprains, or pain in the back, legs, arms, and shoulders. Marina crashes may also require checks for damage to engines, fuel systems, docks, and nearby vessels. Video footage, witness statements, boat position, and operator actions may help explain how the contact occurred.
