Boyle County, KY (January 19, 2026) – A deadly two-vehicle collision on Shakertown Rd near Hughley Ln and Faulkner Rd claimed the life of one man and left another injured on January 18. Kentucky State Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
According to officials, 55-year-old Hector Sanchez was driving a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis southbound on Shakertown Rd when the vehicle’s wheels left the roadway. In an attempt to correct the vehicle’s path, Sanchez crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a 2000 Chevy Silverado.
Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene. Sadly, Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Boyle County Coroner. The driver of the Silverado, 67-year-old Ernest Robinson, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Shakertown Rd was temporarily closed while authorities conducted their on-scene investigation and worked to clear the wreckage. The roadway has since been reopened to traffic.
