Albany, OR (January 19, 2026) – A tragic vehicle-versus-pedestrian accident claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl Friday afternoon in Albany, according to the Albany Police Department.
The incident occurred on January 16 along SE 19th Ave near SE Tudor Way, when Paige Michael Charlene McClintock was struck by a vehicle while helping to move a tool chest in the roadway with a sibling. Authorities confirmed the vehicle involved, a white 2005 Nissan Altima, was driven by McClintock’s 18-year-old sibling.
Albany Fire Department personnel responded quickly and provided immediate medical aid. McClintock was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis but later succumbed to her injuries.
Police stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Impairment is not suspected, and the vehicle has been seized for further forensic analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
McClintock was a student at Albany Options School. In response to the loss, Greater Albany Public Schools will offer counseling support to students upon their return.
