Bridgeport, CT (January 10, 2026) – A serious crash involving a city bus and another vehicle took place on January 9 at the intersection of Main St and North Ave, resulting in two people becoming trapped. The incident occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. and drew a large emergency response from Bridgeport Fire Department, Bridgeport Police, and AMR personnel.
On arrival, responders discovered two occupants trapped inside a car that had collided with the bus. Firefighters utilized rescue tools to perform the extrication, which was successfully completed by 5:55 p.m. Both patients were then turned over to AMR crews for medical treatment and taken to a nearby hospital for further care.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Emergency crews remained on scene for an extended period to assist with traffic control and scene management.
