Understanding the Risks of Serious Two-Wheeler and Vehicle Collisions
Collisions involving motorized two-wheelers, including mopeds, often result in severe injuries due to the minimal protection riders have compared with car occupants. City data show riders continue to experience a significant share of serious traffic injuries, with intersections posing a particular risk.
High speeds, limited visibility, and sudden turning movements increase the likelihood of crashes. Protective gear, adherence to traffic laws, and careful awareness by both drivers and riders are critical for safety. Timely emergency response can make a significant difference in survival and recovery after these incidents.
