BROOKLYN, Kings County, NY, Sept. 17, 2026 — A 35-year-old man died after he was thrown from a dirt bike and then struck by a car Tuesday night, September 15, near Malcolm X Boulevard and Macon Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.
According to authorities, the man was riding a dirt bike north on Malcolm X Boulevard around 9 p.m. when he hit a dip in the road and was ejected onto the roadway. A car traveling in the same direction then struck him, police said. He was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition and later died there, authorities said.
The man and the driver of the car were identified by authorities. The latter stayed at the scene and was taken into custody, according to police, as he faces charges that include criminally negligent homicide and unlicensed operation.
