Fire Safety Reminder for RV and Residential Properties
Fires involving recreational vehicles can escalate quickly due to onboard fuel sources, electrical systems, and confined living areas that allow flames and smoke to spread rapidly. Because of these risks, officials stress the importance of ensuring smoke detectors are working properly and of routinely inspecting propane systems, wiring, and heating equipment in both RVs and homes.
Firefighters also recommend keeping clear evacuation paths at all times and having fire extinguishers readily accessible. Taking these precautions can help occupants respond more quickly in an emergency and reduce the risk of injury or extensive property damage.
