Bloomington, IN (August 5, 2026) – An 18-year-old Campbellsburg man died, and three others were injured in a crash near South Fairfax Road and East Dillman Road on Monday evening, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to the crash involving a Kia and a Subaru just before 9 p.m. on August 3.
George Muench, the Subaru’s driver, was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, where he died. Two passengers in the Subaru were also injured, one seriously; that passenger was flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital. The Kia’s driver, a 37-year-old Bloomington man, was also hurt, though the extent of his injuries is unknown.
