According to early reports, the rollover happened at about 6:05 p.m. on May 24. Investigators said an eastbound car traveled off the roadway and flipped several times before coming to rest on its roof.

A medical helicopter was requested but could not fly because of the weather conditions. All three people were later taken to Trigg County Hospital for treatment.

We hope those hurt in the rollover make a full and speedy recovery.
Why Weather Can Affect Emergency Air Transport After Rural Highway Wrecks
Medical helicopters are usually requested after serious roadway emergencies in rural areas where travel times to trauma centers may be longer. However, weather conditions can quickly affect whether a flight is possible. Low visibility, storms, strong winds, and cloud cover may prevent aircraft from safely reaching a landing zone or hospital.
When air transport cannot be used, patients are usually moved by ground ambulance instead. That can change how quickly someone reaches advanced medical care, especially after a rollover involving major injuries. Rural highways may also present added challenges because of narrow shoulders, limited lighting, or longer distances between emergency facilities.
Road conditions, weather reports, and vehicle movement are commonly reviewed after overturn crashes. These details can help explain how a vehicle left the roadway and why injuries may have been more severe in certain cases.
