Why Crashes Into Homes Can Be Dangerous
Crashes involving vehicles entering residential property can be dangerous for both the people inside the vehicles and those inside the home. A vehicle may break through gates, walls, doors, or windows, creating risks from debris, broken glass, and structural damage.
Emergency crews may need to check injured occupants, secure the property, and confirm that the home is safe. Medical teams may evaluate people for head, neck, back, chest, and limb injuries after a hard impact. Investigators may review surveillance video, vehicle positions, speed, road layout, damage patterns, and witness statements to understand how the vehicles left the roadway and ended up on the property.
