CARSON CITY, Carson City County, Nev., Oct. 25, 2026 — One person was taken to a hospital after a two-alarm fire tore through a home early Sunday morning, October 25, in the 3300 block of Kitchen Drive. Carson City Fire Department Battalion Chief Micah Horton said the house sustained heavy fire damage.

Crews were called to the scene at 3:48 a.m. and found all residents already outside the home, according to the fire department. Multiple engines and mutual aid crews fought the fire from all sides before gaining control. Firefighters reported a knockdown by 4:30 a.m. and had the fire fully out by 5:32 a.m., then moved into overhaul to check for hot spots.

One occupant was evaluated at the scene and taken to the hospital for what is believed to be smoke inhalation, Horton said.

Incident command told dispatchers the home is occupied by seven people, and the Carson City Sheriff's Office confirmed the Red Cross has been notified to assist. NV Energy and Southwest Gas also responded to the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under review, and residents nearby were asked to avoid the area while crews worked. We hope everyone who was hurt makes a full and speedy recovery.
