Bicycle Safety on Residential Streets
Mixed-use streets like Pinto Place and Green Hill Drive may involve varied speeds and traffic types. When injury accidents are reported in Castaic, responders often adjust traffic patterns to secure the scene and protect those involved.
Residential neighborhoods may appear quieter than busy highways, but vehicles, buses, cyclists, and pedestrians often share the same roads. Turning vehicles, driveways, and parked cars can affect visibility for both drivers and cyclists.
Collisions involving larger vehicles, such as buses, can result in severe outcomes for cyclists due to differences in size and protection. Careful driving and awareness of cyclists can help reduce risks on neighborhood streets.
