CENTRALIA, Centralia County, Ill., Sept. 28, 2026 — A two-vehicle crash at Odin Road and Green Street Road in rural Centralia left several people with reported minor injuries on Sunday afternoon, September 27. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department said the collision happened at an intersection controlled by a stop sign.
According to the sheriff’s department, a 17-year-old girl from Iuka was driving southbound on Odin Road and reportedly failed to stop at the sign where Odin Road meets Green Street Road. Her vehicle struck the side of an eastbound car on Green Street Road, driven by 46-year-old Angela Baltzell of Centralia.
Both drivers were injured, along with two teenage passengers riding with Baltzell and one teenage passenger in the teenage driver’s car, the report said. Lifestar Ambulance crews treated all five at the scene. It has not been said whether anyone was taken to a hospital for further care.
The crash was reported at 2:06 p.m. on Sunday. The sheriff’s department has not released further details, and the incident remains under review.
