Charleston, SC (January 13, 2026) – A 37-year-old motorcyclist sustained injuries Monday afternoon following a crash near Henry Tecklenburg Dr in Charleston, leading to hospital transport and evaluation for surgical treatment.
The incident occurred when the motorcycle rider collided with a vehicle that reportedly turned in front of him. Traveling at approximately 20 mph, the rider was ejected over the handlebars upon impact. He was wearing a full-face helmet and protective gear at the time of the crash, which likely reduced the severity of his injuries.
Emergency responders from Charleston County provided initial care at the scene, applying a SAM splint to stabilize the rider’s left leg. The individual was then transported to St. Francis ER, where imaging confirmed a left tibial plateau fracture. Following evaluation, he was transferred for further surgical consultation and possible orthopedic repair.
At the time of transport, the rider was alert and semi-comfortable, with his pain level reported between five and six out of ten. Vital signs remained stable, with no indications of life-threatening trauma.
Our thoughts are with the injured rider, and we wish him a full and successful recovery.
