Pedestrian Crashes Often Result in Severe Injuries
Collisions involving pedestrians frequently result in serious or fatal injuries because pedestrians have little physical protection in the event of a crash.
Roadways such as South George Washington Highway can carry significant traffic during early morning hours when visibility may be limited. Factors such as lighting conditions, driver awareness, and pedestrian location often play an important role in how these incidents occur.
Crash investigators typically review evidence from the scene, witness statements, and vehicle positioning to better understand the sequence of events leading up to a pedestrian crash.
