What Conditions Can Lead to Head-On Collisions in Urban Areas?
Head-on crashes often occur when a vehicle crosses into oncoming traffic. This can happen due to driver confusion, lane departures, or limited visibility during early morning hours.
City streets may present added challenges, including intersections, traffic signals, and varying lane patterns. Drivers traveling at higher speeds or misjudging turns can increase the risk of a direct collision.
These types of crashes can result in serious damage because both vehicles are moving toward each other at the time of impact. Even at lower speeds, the force involved can lead to injuries and require immediate medical attention.
