House Fires During Overnight Hours Can Be Especially Dangerous
Fires that occur late at night or early in the morning can pose greater risks because people are often asleep. This can delay awareness and reduce the time available to react.
Smoke can spread quickly through a home, limiting visibility and making it harder to exit safely. In many cases, inhalation of smoke can become life-threatening before flames reach other areas.
Working smoke alarms and clear exit paths can help improve response time during these situations. Homes with multiple levels or older construction may also present added challenges during a fire emergency.
