Why Visibility Matters for Children Riding E-Bikes
E-bikes can move faster than standard bicycles, which may increase risk when riders share roads with cars, delivery trucks, or other traffic. Children may also have less experience judging speed, distance, and turning movements around larger vehicles.
Residential streets can still carry serious hazards. Driveways, parked vehicles, delivery stops, and nearby intersections can limit what drivers and riders see. A larger truck may also have blind spots that make it harder to notice a small rider close to the vehicle.
After an e-bike accident, medical teams often check for head trauma, broken bones, chest injuries, and internal harm. Helmets, lights, reflective gear, and careful supervision can help reduce danger, but they cannot prevent every serious outcome.
