Bethel Township, OH (September 1, 2026) – According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, one child was killed following a two-vehicle collision on Sunday afternoon, August 30, at the intersection of New Carlisle Pike and North Tecumseh Road. The crash happened around 3:25 p.m.
A Volkswagen Atlas driven by 38-year-old Micah Newburg of Fairborn was traveling south on North Tecumseh Road. A Kia Soul driven by 69-year-old William Daniel of Springfield was traveling west on New Carlisle Pike. Troopers said the Volkswagen driver allegedly failed to yield at the stop sign to traffic with the right of way.
The Kia struck the Volkswagen in the intersection, causing the Kia to overturn while the Volkswagen left the roadway. The crash resulted in the death of a child. The incident remains under review by authorities. We extend our sincere condolences to the child’s family and loved ones.
